Joe Hinchliffe has studied at the University of Rochester (BA magna cum laude, 1983), Vanderbilt University (JD, 1986) and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (PhD, 2002).  His teaching interests center on governance, public policymaking, and law, especially in the context of government and politics of the United States.  As director of undergraduate studies, he advises undergraduate students, works with academic advisors and faculty, and serves or has served on a variety of campus, college and departmental committees related to undergraduate programs and curriculum, academic advising and student life.
