Assistant Professor

Biography

I'm an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Previously, I was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Niehaus Center for Globalization and Governance at Princeton University.

Research Interests

My research uses advanced statistical methods to explore the politics of norms adoption and resistance, with a focus on how external actors influence policy change. I also examine the politics of human rights within international organizations, the promotion of—and pushback against—norms related to sexual orientation and gender identity, the role of non-state actors in international relations, and border politics.
